Cody Rhodes doesn’t want to face Manchester City Striker Erling Haaland in the ring

The Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes revealed in an interview that he would avoid a fight with Manchester City’s Erling Haaland, citing Haaland’s physical attributes and the potential for a tough confrontation. Rhodes, currently on a WWE tour in the UK, shared this sentiment while participating in promotional activities with the football club.

You would think that the current Undisputed WWE Champ wouldn’t turn down a fight with anyone in the world, but the superstar has just made quite the shocking statement in a recent interview, saying that he would not face Erling Haaland in a match.

The American Nightmare along with other WWE stars have recently flown to the United Kingdom as they’re gearing up for the much-anticipated live events in Cardiff, Liverpool, Newcastle and Manchester. While being there Rhodes and others have featured in several promotional projects, including one with the popular football club Manchester City.

“I don't want to get into it with him”: Cody Rhodes doesn’t want to fight Erling Haaland

During an interview with Manchester City, Rhodes was asked which Man City player would he least like to take on a fight. The American Nightmare replied explaining why it’s the superstar striker Erling Haaland. “I'd say Erling Haaland here, as you can see. Kind of looks like the type of guy who would beat you up outside of his bus, which I have a bad habit of. That's been going on a lot lately. [I] don't want to get into it with him, long limbs, too. That's a whole other mess,” stated Rhodes.

Rhodes alluded to his earlier scuffle with The Rock and Kevin Owens. KO had recently beat him up after the Bad Blood event this year. A few months prior in March, he received some brutal blows from The Rock. Most recently, Rhodes locked horns with Solo Sikoa in three Steel Cage Matches, and defeated him, successfully defending his title as the Undisputed WWE Champion.
WWE Live returned to the United Kingdom this year, kicking off on October 13, 2024 in Utilita Arena in Cardiff. The show will fly to Ireland in the coming month where the first event will commence on Sunday, November 3, 2024, in 3Arena in Dublin. The final event on the tour schedule for this year is on November 6 and will be held at the Utilita Arena in Sheffield, U.K.
